Josef Schwab Riesling (Baden, Germany): geology is also the key on the other side of the Rhine

The small Josef Schwab's cellar is located at 3 km from Strasbourg (France) but in the province of Baden-Württemberg, with 9 ha dedicated to the varieties of the region: Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner, Müller-thurgau or Riesling like this one:

2015 vintage: Clean straw yellow color. Medium intensity in nose that combines roses, mineral elements and souvenirs of tropical fruit. Female mouth, easy to drink, with an acidity typical of Central European white wines. Predominance of lightness insomuch not exceed 12'5 % vol. but with the strength of citrus fruits like grapefruit and flowers. Short finish leaving trace minerals, fresh herbs, white bone fruits and lychee.

This wine has less riesling things than Gewürztraminer, but Why? Beacause Riesling has unique aromas. These unique aromas are closely linked to the soil, to the geology that nourishes this variety. But, is it that you go around sucking stones? NO, minerality is a subjective term that evokes soil and complexity. That is objective are the 12 euros of price of this target.
